Ben Sanderson took a career-best 8-73 as Northants eventually wore down a
spirited Gloucestershire to win their final match of the campaign.
The result looked a formality but the visitors dug in, nightwatchman Liam Norwell their only loss before lunch.
Fast bowler Sanderson then struck twice in an over, but George Haskins (116) made a maiden first-class century.
However, Sanderson tore through the tail to bowl Gloucestershire out for 327 and secure a 114-run win.
Haskins, 19, showed tenacity in a sixth-wicket partnership of 135 with veteran Phil Mustard (79), while Chris Dent (58) made a patient half-century.
