Two months ago, Mundo Deportivo explained that Chelsea are one of the clubs to have made an offer for the 27-year-old, while Barcelona have him in their transfer plans.

He claims the Catalan club have ‘never denied’ the Argentina international is an ‘option’ for the left-back position, but they cannot sign him or anyone else, without selling some of their own players.
