Netflix’s smash-hit “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” tells the bizarre tale of Joe Exotic, a zany gay polygamist owner of a private zoo in Oklahoma. He goes to battle with animal rights activist Carole Baskin and eventually gets convicted in a murder-for-hire plot to off her that lands him in prison for 22 years. Throughout the documentary, Joe and his compatriots repeatedly accused Carole of killing her second husband, millionaire Don Lewis.
The mysterious disappearance of Carole Baskin's husband
Twenty-three years ago, Don Lewis vanished while married to Carole. Five years later, a judge declared the missing husband dead, which permitted Carole Baskin to inherit his substantial estate. The fact that Carole Baskin’s version of Don Lewis last will stipulated that she would wrest control of her missing husband’s financial affairs in the “event of his disability or disappearance” has also raised eyebrows. It is very unusual for a will to refer specifically to disappearance in this context.
In a since deleted social media post, Carole Baskin addressed this point about her missing husband’s “disappearance.”
“Some people made a fuss about using the word ‘disappearance,’ but Don had told me about people going to Costa Rica and disappearing, and he was dealing with the mob down there, so I thought that seemed like a potential threat and included the word,” she wrote.
The families of both Don and Anne, meanwhile, have indicated that they were highly aware that in the time leading up to his going missing, Carole Baskin’s husband was determined to divorce her.
Since then its like the "did O.J. do it" question lingering without an answer. So what do you think happen? Do you believe Carole Baskin did it?
