I am not one to travel frequently because I am one of those Jamaicans who love dem yard. Unfortunately, being a part of the FiWEH team, traveling is a requirement. Another thing, I am very particular about the food I eat because I don’t eat meat except for fish.
Now you can see why I had a huge dilema being in a foreign country and not knowing what type of foods are available for consumption. Being the second day of arriving in Pohang, I decided I should start exploring because at first glance this area does not look like a tourist region because there are absolutely nothing that indicates accommodations for tourists especially food choice. There are no western food chains like you would see in cities like Tokyo and Taiwan.
During my stroll which lasted more than two hours, I finally came across a noodle restaurant that was clean on the outside so I decided to walk in. The atmosphere was welcoming and I quickly asked for the bathroom because I drank a full bottle of water during my two hour stroll. I did not notice a menu around, but I was able to select from a list of items that was presented on a small notepad. Base on my self-proclaimed pesco-vegetarianism I chose the most recognizable thing on the list “Spicy Seafood Noodle”.
