brave security guards taking on gun-toting man inside NCB

amateur video captured the dramatic moments after a man pulled a gun inside the halls of a National Commercial Bank (NCB) in Half Way Tree, St Andrew on Thursday.

The footage shows people scampering for cover while a brave male security guard and his colleagues struggle with the armed man.

The security guard and his colleagues subsequently escort the gun-toting man out of the building, without anyone getting hurt.

NCB has publicly commended the security officers for their professionalism.

“Our security personnel were effective in managing and containing the situation within a few minutes and no one inside the branch was harmed,” said the company in a statement, adding “We commend our security team on their swift response and assure our customers and employees that their safety is our priority.”

It is still unclear what triggered the man’s outburst. Some social media users have speculated that the man became upset by what he deemed as inadequate service – which they highlight was no justification for him pulling a gun.

In a statement late Thursday, NCB said it has referred the matter to the relevant authorities for investigation.

“Our security personnel were effective in managing and containing the situation within a few minutes and no one inside the branch was harmed,” said the company in a statement, adding “We commend our security team on their swift response and assure our customers and employees that their safety is our priority.”

It is unclear what triggered the man’s outburst.
