Everyone feels tired from time to time, but it becomes irregular when you feel tired every single day, all day. You may be battling a health concern if you have chronic instances of tiredness. There are tips to try, however, if you want to feel less tired during the day and want your days to go smoother.

  1. 1 Get a Better Mattress

    It could be that you are tossing and turning all night without even realizing that you are. In many cases, this tossing and turning are due to a lack of comfort while you sleep which can come from a bad mattress. You may require a certain firmness or a certain incline for when you are seeing, which can be fixed easily when you purchase an adjustable bed base. Test this out for yourself by simply laying on your mattress and noticing areas of pain that you experience or areas of discomfort you may experience.

  2. 2 Notice Your Sleep Habits

    Even if you think you slept all night long, you may not get the right amount of sleep or even the right amount of REM sleep. Notice, at night, how long it takes you to fall asleep or how many times you wake up during the night. Keep a journal of how many hours a night of sleep that you are getting as well. If you are not getting enough sleep or not falling asleep fast enough, start going to bed earlier and consider listening to white noise or relaxing before you fall asleep.

    Your diet is not just important to you to stay healthy and to stay in good shape, as it can also affect your sleep. Avoid eating processed foods that include high amounts of carbohydrates as these do not give you the fuel you need to get through the day. Eat more proteins and healthy fats that aid in fueling your body so that you can stay alert all day. If you do eat carbohydrates, which you should, consider whole grains and other carbohydrates that are high in fiber.

  4. 4 Get Ample Exercise

    Every person should try to get at least some exercise during the day, even if it is just a quick walk down your road. Try to exercise for at least 20 to 30 minutes a day to boost your energy levels and to increase your metabolism rate. The more you do this regular exercise, the more active that you will feel throughout the day when you do not want to feel tired. Sitting for too long can actually make you more tired throughout the day than getting ample exercise does on a regular basis.

  5. 5 Spend Time Outside

    The sun can give you Vitamin D which is great for giving you energy levels during the day when you are tired. Try to go out in the sun for a significant amount of time during the morning hours in order to set your circadian rhythm, which is important to your sleep. Even if there is bad weather outside, you can sit near a window that lets in bright light during these morning hours. This will help you to feel more alert throughout the day so that you are unfocused and groggy when you try to complete necessary tasks.

  6. 6 Power Nap

    Though it may seem counterintuitive, a quick power nap can help you when you are feeling tired throughout the day. Sleeping for 20 or 30 minutes in the afternoon can relieve some of your tiredness, especially if you did not get ample sleep the night before. It. is best to take your nap when you are receiving regular sleep though, between the early afternoon hours. Naps should not be ordinary for you though, as they can indicate an underlying health condition that you may have as well.

    If you are tired throughout the day, there are solutions to help you. Make sure you are getting ample sleep during the night by following a routine and being comfortable. During the day, take time to eat well, exercise, feel the sunlight, and even take a nap if it is absolutely necessary for you to feel alert.
