![]() Today's marketplace is very competitive and the main drive towards any form of creative success depends on how big your pocket is. For those that don't have financial backing it is very difficult to make any form of income. Attacking the problem, takes several hours of consideration because this may become an options we might inherit in the future for potential clients. The platform for profit will probably start off with the following: Pre-release advertising, promoting and marketing using low budget methods such as posters, flyers and email promotions in local businesses and venues associated with the genre of the Artists. We are already familiar with the methods used by major labels, they promote in magazines, newspapers, radio, television, online social networks and multiiple websites using banner ads etc. When that's all pre-posted in the minds of fans it will leave an impression of anticipation like how we waited for the last Star Wars movie. The buzz will already be created by local newspapers and magazines and the upcoming release will be a huge potential for digital and album sales. The next area to attack as an artists is in concerts. In the process of promoting album releases and doing some personal marketing, the artist should be working on their performing skills because, a good recording artist don't necessarily means good performing artist. I've experienced it many time when I see a performance from an artists and I never go back because they were weak performances. I never support the artists at another concert because it was not worth my money to see them doing the same type of boring performance (multiple people on stage, too much mics, bad singing, etc). That will reduce ticket sales, and concert attendances. Besides that, great performers like Elephant Man, Beenie Man and Machel Montana keeps the Reggae and Soca ticket sales and concert attendance skyrocketing because they are not only great recording artist but greater performers. As for writers, they could write for artists that's known to release hits and negotiate a deal that will allow them to make royalties from every song recorded, streamed and performed. The real future of Artists money making is actually in the past. Theres no sense trying to re-invent the wheel. The method of money making for labels and artists is always in merchandising and touring. We've seen it many times, non-performing artists fail in their careers because they never tour and if they do, they flop as performers.
