Elements Of Success In The Business

There are five basic elements of success that exists within the industry, promotion, management, money, control, and access to fans. These elements are used by major labels to create a level of future success for new artists. If you are a new artists, these are great methods to which an Artists can develop themselves into great Recording and Performing Artists. Bear in mind these methods are based off FiWEH.com's analysis.

1. Control - Before an artist start working towards a career in music they should have a basic understanding of the business and what is required to reach that level of success. Having control of your music and movement is the key. If you just allow other individuals to control your destiny then you will eventually become a failure because as an artist you never learn anything. Educate and control your assets.

2. Management - After you obtain of your career and material you will need to have someone who's going to be out there representing you and getting you out there. You can do it yourself, however your creative juice can run out when you are not fully focus on your main responsibility of making music.

3. Promotions - It is very difficult to reach any form of success if you haven't promoted yourself and your material. If you have no control of your assets, your manager is not out there pushing you and you have not promoted your self using simple marketing tools you can't truly create a buzz for yourself. And you will become less accessible to your fans.

4. Access to fans - As I stated before, promotion is a great way to create direct access to fans. You can go from being an unknown artist to a popular one within months after hard promotions. Fans will come to you if you have a great appeal, you make great music and you are being promoted well. They will be quick to purchase your music or even attend your concerts.

5. Money - Some people think you need money to make it in the business. There are several individuals that started their careers on an empty pocket. They use simple promotional tools to create a buzz about themselves and their music and gain access to fans of other artists. They were able to control their assets, their managers did great representations and got them where they need to be. When that's all said and done, they start seeing the monetary benefit of their hardwork. Sometimes it is not wise to accept advances from a label upon your initial signing of your deal. This will give you leverage later on in your career when you negotiate your royalties.
