The Jamaican Star says, "G-Whizz, is a descriptive word in instances blurted out by Jamaicans to show astonishment. But, in the case of singer Garland Rowe, also known as G-Whizz, it is the kind of reaction he wants fans to have when he performs." Born in Jamaica , renown for its bauxite, lush vegetation, exquisite beaches and rich musical heritage, G-Whizz focus was to build on this legacy and in time find a place among the greats of Reggae Music. His greatest inspiration is Bob Marley. Hailed as a rising star, the 22 year old singer, songwriter and composer, diverse talent encapsulates Reggae, R&B & Dancehall displaying such versatility second to none. At this early stage in his career, his delivery and vocal style shows a depth of talent that legendary artiste Johnny "Mr. Buda-Bye" Osbourne commented, "He is ready". The passion for music is natural to G-Whizz. While attending Vauxhall High, he was one of the lead male vocalists on the school choir and was awarded a Certificate for Outstanding Achievement in Music. Upon graduation, he participated in several talent shows hoping that the exposure would take him a step closer in achieving his lifelong dream. After the airing of an interview on a local Jamaican Cable station in which he displayed his talent, G-Whizz was offered a management deal by his current manager, Lloyd Campbell. The 3 years since his association with Lloyd has been very productive. A blossoming relationship with the Barrett brothers, Kevin and John sons of the great bassist Aston "Familyman" Barrett has led to extensive studio work at Fams House Studio. In the process it has also provided opportunities for him to record with other producers and doing collaborations with the likes of Turbulence, Bling Dawg & Norris Man. The year 2006 for G-Whizz ended on a high note due to his performances alongside Bounty Killa, Movado, Bling Dawg, Etana, Kiprich, Hitlist, Aidonia on the National School Tour Against Violence unequivocally characterized G-Whizz's artisty. Ultimately he was chosen as one of the nominees for the 1st ANNUAL JOE HIGGS MUSIC AWARD in the "Best New Artist" category subsequently won by Gyptian. Promotion and publicity work includes in house & phone interviews in JA and the US, non stop live performances in every parish throughout JA, playing at many of the major shows & clubs including Asylum, Village Cafe, Lime Light, Back Yard, Cooyah scholarship event, Tempo, B-Mobile back to school, Club Irresistible, the Hilton, Temptation Live, Fully Loaded and the National School Tour Against Violence '06. Video's for his songs Blue Seam Red Seam, Hush, Ghetto Life, Ease My Mind, Those Days Are No More, Shake It Up and Like A Lady are currently in rotation on CVM TV, TV J, R.E. TV, Hype TV, FIWI TV and Music Plus. As G-Whizz journeys in his quest to make positive music for the upliftment of all peoples, check him out as one of featured artist singing "Music" on the recently released riddim driven CD entitled, "A Little Bit More" a Deeboz Muzik production.
